Patna [State Bureau] Chhath pooja of 3 lakh employed teachers of the state will pass without wages. However, on October 15, the state government had announced the payment of one month's salary to the government servants along with permanent and employed teachers.
Despite this, the teachers could not get the salary in Deepawali nor would they be able to succeed in Chhath Puja. Following this negligence of the department, Bihar Panchayat Nagar Early Teachers Association has decided to move the agitation.
The salary of nearly three lakh employed teachers in the state is paid by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan item. This year, the Central Government has so far sent the amount of the first installment to the state government in addition to the adhoc in the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan item. The salary paid till April-May was paid to teachers employed by the amount received. Teachers have not received the salary from June to October.
Following the direction of the government on October 15 this year, RK Mahajan, Principal Secretary of Education, issued the order and ordered permanent and employed teachers to pay one month's salary till October 23. Even after the announcement of Principal Secretary, the teachers could not get the salary.
In view of this attitude of the government, the Bihar Panchayat Nagar Early Teachers' Union has told the government that if they do not pay the salary till October 26, then they will be bound to the movement.
