The state government has also included Chhath Puja in the list of public holidays. Dates of public holidays, which are not under the negotiable Institution Act 1881. The festival is celebrated according to the local moon philosophy and it has been declared a holiday at the Chhath Puja festival. DM Ajaydeep Singh said that there is a public holiday on Chhath festival. Offices will remain closed. BSA Dr Amarkant Singh said that there is only a women holiday in schools at Chhath festival. Men teachers come to work.
