With the notification of urban body elections, Model Code of Conduct has been implemented in the urban areas of the state. Due to the Code of Conduct, the transfers, appointments and promotions of officers associated with elections have been fully banned. The District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police will not be able to leave the district or go on vacation or training till the completion of election process. To do this in the unavoidable circumstances, they will have to seek permission from the Commission first. 1 State Election Commissioner SK Agarwal said that strict adherence to the Model Code of conduct will be ensured for conducting body elections in an independent, unbiased and transparent manner. Until the election process is over, there will be a complete ban on revenue directly related to elections, police, transfer to municipal development, appointment and promotion. Even the remaining officers of the departments, who will be connected in any way with the election process, will be stopped on their transfer. 1 Agrawal said that during the election process, the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police will not be able to leave the work area ie the district. They will not be able to go on holiday or training too. The officers will be able to do this in the unavoidable circumstances with the prior permission of the Commission.
