Lucknow: Direct recruitment of the prison guard (prison warder) will now be done through written examination. It was also decided to fill 3373 vacant posts of captives soon. In prison prisons, restrictions are restricted to capacity, the responsibility of prison warders is very important in the security and maintenance of jail. It was told that 7031 posts of prison ward were created, with respect to 3658 posts. The Cabinet decided to fill up the 3373 vacant post of prison warder soon. Actually, prison warders are selected through direct recruitment. Their services are governed by the Prison Administration and Reforms Department, Gel Wadar Cadre Service Rules, 2016. Under the provisions of the rules, there is a system of selection through direct recruitment on the basis of marks obtained in the examination of the jail warders and the marks obtained in the examination of the 10th and 12th and the physical skill test. While making changes in this arrangement, it has been decided to hold the post of jail warder in the cabinet through a written examination. The procedure for recruitment process of police superintendent and jail warder is similar. While inaugurating the Higher Police Reservation and Main Reserve Service (First Amendment) Rules 2017, the Home Department has inserted the written examination in the recruitment process. Similar to the Police Reserves, the promulgation of the Jail Warder Cadre Seva (First Amendment) Rules 2017 has been proposed in the Jurisdiction of Prison Prison Administration and Reforms Department, for the inclusion of the written examination in the recruitment process of jail warders.
