चार करोड़ दे दिए, नहीं लगी बायोमीट्रिक मशीनें

State bureau, Shimla: The plans for applying biometric machines to tighten the teachers coming late in Government schools in Himachal did not clash. The Department of Higher Education started the process of applying biometric machines in schools almost a year ago. To date, the project has not been able to land on paper.

About 2600 schools were required to set up biometric machines by the Department of Education. It was entrusted to the electronic development corporation. In order to apply the machines, the Department of Education had deposited nearly four crore rupees in the account of the corporation. Despite this, biometric machines have not been found in schools. According to officials of the education department, the corporation has been tender two to three times for biometric machines. One or two companies had only filled the tender. According to the rules, the tender opens only after the tendering process is more than three companies. The purpose of applying biometric machines was to find out the teachers who went to school late and had to go home before the holiday. The department had also received complaints about the absence of teachers from many schools in remote areas. A plan for applying biometric machines was made to keep a check on all these.

Five companies in tender again

Due to non-availability of more companies in tender, delay in applying biometric machines. Recently, Electronic Development Corporation has tendered in which five companies have come up.
