New Delhi: In the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), the government will now give reservation to other backward classes (OBCs) too. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has approved the reservation for the OBC category in the second phase of the NTSE under the fixed reservation rules of the Center.
At present, the OBC segment will get the benefit from 2019, the process of NTSE 2018 has been started. Through this examination, talented students of 11th, 12th, undergraduate and postgraduate are selected for scholarship.
Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar gave this information through a tweet on Tuesday. So far this reservation was reserved for SC, ST and disabled students only. With this, the Ministry has doubled the number of students selected for the scholarship given in the second phase of NTSE. That is, now it will get two thousand students every year. So far only one thousand students get the benefit of scholarship per year.
