The price of a pair of shoes given to children is Rs 135.75, while the price of a pair of socks is 21.85 rupees.
266.53 crores will be spent on providing shoe-stocking to children. Tender process has been completed for shoes and socks. There will be an e-tender for supply of sweater, which is in process. Prior to the assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party had announced in the Public Welfare Resolution that when it comes to power, it will give all the books, uniforms, shoes and school bags for free to class 12 students and students from poor families.
