Heavy rains prevented Mumbai's speed, schools and colleges closed today, advised to stay away from the sea

Mumbai: In the past month, Mumbai is facing the trouble of rain for the second time. Several areas of Mumbai are experiencing rains since Tuesday, due to which water is flooded in several lower areas including Kurla. Due to the waterlogging, traffic has slowed down in Mumbai. Rainfall has also affected the local train, which is called Lifeline of Mumbai. Trains are running very slowly on many routes. Local trains are running from Virar to Churchgate on Western Line, but rail service in front of Virar is closed. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in the next few hours. All schools and colleges have been discontinued today. Fishermen have been warned to stay away from the sea.


The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of further rains

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the continuation of rain in many parts of Mumbai. Given this, all the schools and colleges in the city have been announced to stop the precautionary one day. Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde announced this.


Airport slipped, passengers safe

Due to bad weather in Mumbai, the visibility decreased around the airport to 250 meters in the evening. For this reason the airlines were stopped for half an hour and many flights were diverted to the nearest airport. However, an airplane of SpiceJet slipped on the Mumbai airport from the runway when landing, after which the operation at the airport was once again stopped.


Heavy rain in Mumbai and coastal Konkan region

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in Mumbai and coastal Konkan region. While releasing the alert on Sunday, the Meteorological Department (IMD) said that there is a possibility of heavy rains due to low air pressure on the southern Madhya Maharashtra and the Bay of Bengal. In the next 48 to 72 hours, there may be very heavy rain in the Konkan region including Mumbai.
